Terms of Service
Last updated: February 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the VoltSentry battery monitoring system, including hardware, software, cloud services, and the website at voltsentry.app, provided by So Smart Apps LLC ("we", "us", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing VoltSentry hardware, using the VoltSentry app, or accessing our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our products or services.
2. Description of Service
VoltSentry is a battery monitoring and theft detection system that includes hardware modules, a cloud backend, and client applications. The system monitors battery voltage, sends SMS alerts, and tracks GPS location of monitored equipment.
3. Hardware
VoltSentry hardware modules are sold as-is for the purpose of battery monitoring. Proper installation is the responsibility of the purchaser. We provide documentation and support but are not responsible for improper installation, damage from environmental conditions beyond the IP65 rating, or use outside the specified voltage ranges.
4. Service Availability
VoltSentry relies on cellular networks (via Blues Wireless), cloud infrastructure (Firebase), and SMS delivery (Twilio). While we strive for high availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Cellular coverage, network outages, and third-party service disruptions may affect functionality. VoltSentry should not be relied upon as the sole security or safety system for critical infrastructure.
5. SMS Alerts
SMS alerts are delivered on a best-effort basis through Twilio. Delivery timing depends on carrier networks and is typically under 2 minutes but is not guaranteed. Standard carrier messaging rates may apply to recipients. You are responsible for maintaining accurate phone numbers in the system.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Install VoltSentry hardware in accordance with provided documentation
- Use the system only for lawful purposes
- Keep your account information and contact list current
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with our hardware or software
- Not resell or redistribute VoltSentry software without written permission
7. Intellectual Property
All VoltSentry software, firmware, documentation, and branding are the property of So Smart Apps LLC. Hardware designs are proprietary. Self-Hosted customers receive a license to use the software for their own operations but may not redistribute it.
8. Managed Service Subscriptions
Managed Service customers pay a monthly fee that includes backend hosting, cellular data, and SMS alerts. Subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time with 30 days notice. Hardware remains yours after cancellation, but cloud services will be discontinued.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, So Smart Apps LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use VoltSentry, including but not limited to: loss of equipment, battery failure, theft, missed alerts, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific hardware or service in question.
10. Warranty
VoltSentry hardware is warranted against manufacturing defects for 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, water intrusion beyond the IP65 rating, electrical surges, or normal wear and tear. Warranty claims should be directed to leon@sosmartapps.app.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Pima County, Arizona.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of VoltSentry after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
